HISTORY
In the eighteen sixties a certain citizen of Brno built a restaurant in the forest overlooking the part of Brno known as Pisárky, which soon became a popular excursion destination for the inhabitants of Brno. Its visitors included such famous personalities as the writers Jiří Mahen, Rudolf Těsnohlídek and Vladislav Vančura. According to Karla Mahenová, widow of Jiří Mahen, who visited Myslivna with her sister regularly every Sunday until her death, they liked the restaurant, known as Myslivna or Hunting Lodge, so much that they planted a pine tree in front of it, which stands there to this day. The original restaurant was later turned into a poultry farm, before finally being demolished. In the years 1942 and 1943 German soldiers erected a building in the Pisárky forests which they called Jägerhaus and used as a club. After the war the building, also furnished in period style, was turned into a restaurant and soon became a popular spot for the inhabitants of Brno for its wonderful view of the city and its excellent cuisine. Gustav Brom and his orchestra began their career on the restaurant's summer terrace. A hotel extension was completed in November 1987 from plans by the architect Dvořák. From that time onwards the hotel has been short-term home to tourists from all over the world, tradesmen, businessmen and personalities from the worlds of culture, sport and social life.
We hope you choose our hotel for your stay in the beautiful city of Brno.
